The big Mystery announcement that you have been waiting for.....
Mandysea is back!
We are very much looking forward to Mandy sharing her ideas with us again and helping
find that missing mojo some of us seem to be having trouble with lately
Here is what she has to show you today:
It's great to be back!
If you missed me sneaking in the back door....
here it is with a little project about
Some fun with mixed media!
To start....
we need to divide up a 12x12 paper
and a very handy way to use this is with
4" x 4" squares in which are folded
using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad by Ranger: ‘Frayed Burlap’ (its a lovely taupe-brown)
run the ink down the creases and edges.
Prima Marketing - 12 X 12 Leaf Vine Mask (oh my gosh! This is only $2.95 reduced from $11.95!)
Check out the masks HERE
It's a really good idea to use a mixed media non-stick mat
or
My paper is Basic Grey Nook and Pantry 'Waffles'
and
it happens to match colour-wise fabulously with
Teresa Collins Designs : Modeling Paste so blends well into the background!
Taking a spatula or knife swipe the paste well over the mask
Peel off the mask.
Doesn't it look great especially if you have foliage in the photos you might be adding later.
(Don't forget to wash your mask and palatte knife straight away :) )
Pop this aside a a little while to dry well
about 10 minutes should do the trick depending on where you live
about 10 minutes should do the trick depending on where you live
There's a couple of ways to get do this..
scribble into each leaf - sometimes though it will leave the original drawn marks when adding water
or
using your water brush, brushing the tip into the end of the Lime gelato and painting it on...
You can find all the Gelato colours HERE
Using a paint brush and a dot of water... dip into your Frayed Burlap ink pad and colour in the vines and just one side edge of each leaf....
... suddenly it starts to look 'arty'!
Measuring where a photo is going... draw a outline with Black Licorice gelato
and then this happens with your water brush...
some definition and shadowing.
To finish off....
cut with a precision knife some undersides of the leaves and pop a photo up under them...
using the black gelato with the waterbrush, paint around each 4" square too...
All finished....
If you love doing Project Life, this 12x12 multi media page can be cut into 4" sections and put into your pocket pages.... you could do any size bigger or smaller.
