Deb's July ATC

Once again, I have had a little play with some leftovers from my sketch sample page for July, to make another ATC. I sure am enjoying creating "small" and was thinking I might just include these little cards into some Project Life type scrapping.

This time I have had some fun creating a little brickwork background.

Starting with a 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" scrap of the reverse side of Prima Lifetime Dolce paper.

I've then used Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap distress paint to swipe "little bricks" in a brickwork pattern, starting off the top of the atc and continuing off the bottom.

Then when dry, I've gone back over swiping with Antique Linen distress paint - brushing over the first lot of bricks and in-betweens as well.

After it was all very dry, I've doodled in my brickwork with an American Crafts fine point slick writer. Probably best not too think to hard about the pattern - just very random little bricks.

I've cut the word "hope" and a key from the Dolce paper and added a quote using Prima Lifetime alpha stickers. A little bunch of flowers and some twine, vintage photo distress stain around the distressed edge and pop it all onto a piece of 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" scrap of kraft cardstock.

and it's done.

The border I created on my sketch sample page gave me the idea to go a bit further with the "brickwork".

Don't forget to play along with this month's sketch challenge.
We would love to see your creations.
